- Reader in Creative Industires of De Montfort University visited School of Art, SKKU
- Dr. Rachel Granger, Reader in Creative Industries of De Montfort University in United Kindom, visited SKKU on October 24th. She had a meeting with the dean of the School of Art, and the chair of the department of Human ICT Convergence to discuss possible ways to cooperate between the two universities. At the meeting, both universities agreed on collaborations to foster student exchange, dual degree program, and other professional development. Mr. Jack Greenway, an international officer of DMU accompanying with Dr. Granger, said "Let's continue to work closely to bring about the collaboration discussed." After the meeting, Dr. Rachel Granger gave students a special lecture about "Creative Industries" which has recently emerged in UK.

- Mr. Hyoungmin Kim delivers "Hyegang Development Fund" to Department of Acting for Theater, Film and TV.

Mr. Hyoungmin Kim(Department of Accounting, Class of 1990) visited the President(Dr. Kyusang Jung) and contributed the "Hyegang" development fund for the Department of Acting for Theatre, Film and TV. He also promised dominating for next 10 years with the same amount of the fund. Not only the President, but Dean(Sunjin Hwang) of School of Art where the department belongs to, the Chair of the department(Hyunhee Kim), and the students attended the ceremony and showed their big appreciation for donator's affection toward the school. He said that he wishes the fund be the stepping stone for students to practice in a better environment. He also mentioned that he is very proud of recent SKKU's growth so he will constantly stand behind juniors to give support to their dreams and talents. SKKU has the plan to utilize the fund as the foundation for a sustainable arts ecosystem and industiral-educational vitalization. -

- Kyunjin Park(Department of Art, 01) won the grand prize in '38th JoongAng Art Contest'
- Kyunjin Park(Department of Art, 01) won the grand prize in '38th JoongAng Art Contest' Kyungjin Park, Class of 2007, won the '38th JoongAng Art Contest' hosted by JoongAng Ilbo and JTBC. He also was chosen as '10 artists of this year' Since 1978, 'Joongang Art Contest' has been the biggest and deep-rooted art contest in Korea lifting up young and creative artists to the surface. There were 150 participants in the contest who went through the preliminary portfolio screening and the secondary presentaion evaluation. Finally selected 10 artists showed their works by opening the exhibition called '38th Joongang Art Contest's Exhibition' in Sejong Center Art Gallery from October 10th to 17th. The judging commitee passed through final screening and announced Kyungjin as the winner of the grand prize. Additional prize was 10,000,000KRW. - Forming Celebrities’ Reunion and Funds for Department of Acting for Theatre, Film & TV
- On July 27th(Wed), SKKU held a reunion of Department of Acting for Theatre, Film & TV. This gathering aimed to encourage students of the department. SKKU President Jeong Gyu Sang, President of SKKU Reunion Shin Yoon Ha, Dean of the Department Kim Hyun Hee, including graduates who debut as actors and singers attended and celebrated this reunion. SKKU President Jeong said K-pop culture has made positive effects on building positive relationships among universities and has been proud of SKKU graduates. In addition, President of SKKU Reunion Shin Yoon Ha encouraged students to be proud down the road. Dean of the Department Kim Hyun Hee appointed Kim Hyung Min(accounting 86) as the supporter for the department. Kim said, “ It’s time to support SKKU students in need of help.” Also, he promised to support the Department of Acting for Theatre, Film & TV by raising 100 million won every year in 10 years. Han Ji Sang(Acting 03) sang the title song of Musical Jekyll & Hyde, enjoying the union. Lee Min Jung(01/actor), Hwag Je Sung(01/comedian), Kwon Hae Bom(05/ business administration/ MBC PD), Kim Nam Joo(15/singer) also showed up to celebrate the union.

- 2016 Dean’s Scholarship Award of Art school
- Hwang Sun Jin, Dean of Art School, awarded students Dean’s Scholarship on June 30 at Dean’s office. The ceremony began in 2015. Ma Min Ji(Fine Art), Hyoun Su Jin(Design), Kim Yang Hee(Dance), Choi Young Seok (Acting for theatre, Film & TV), Han Dong Hun, SAC(Fashion design) were granted scholarships. Those students have made great efforts to improve reputations of SKKU Art School and also have been active in learning.

- SKKU School of Art Reward for the 2015 most excellent teachers
- School of Art designated four instructors as the most excellent teachers. The four laureates were selected based on academic principles and evaluation from students in 2015. The awards ceremony was held on June 15th Hwang Sun Jin, Dean of Art School, awarded them with prize money on behalf of SKKU’s President. Park Sun Young (Design), Park Gwang Choon (Film), Kim Ae Ja (Acting), and Jang Sung Eun (Fashion) were selected as the best teachers.

- Kim Joo Bin(Department of Dance, 06) won the “ACT BAD PRIZE” at Bilbao Act Festival
- On June 1 to 4 2016, the 13rd Bilbao Act Festival was held in Spain. Kim Joo Bin(a graduate majoring in Dance) attended the festival under the direction of Professor Im Hak Sun. He won the “ACT BAD PRIZE” with a prize of 20 million euro. All the participants from around the world fiercely competed with each other. Only 15 performances make it to the final stages. Professor Im said SKKU signed MOU with Bilbao Act Festival and encourages Korean young artists to attend this festival. This year he participated in the contest to win the prize.

- The Exhibition of SKKU Fashion Design Department
- On June 1st, Fashion Design Department will hold the 46 exhibition to celebrate graduation at the hall of Jo Byoung-Doo, the fifth floor at the 600 anniversary building on SKKU Seoul campus. This exhibition will be showed at 4 and 7 PM. The subject of the exhibition is＂Fashionista/Fashionisto＂, which is under the direction of Professors Im Eun-Hyuck, Son Ji-Gon and Lee Kwang- Ho. This show reinterprets 50 fashionistas in the 20 century in different perspectives. Interestingly, professional models of ESTEEM will attend this show.
