- Department of Theatre won second place in 2021 Busan International Performing Arts Festival
- Students, mainly sophomores in Sungkyunkwan University, department of Theatre, had participated in 2021 Busan International Performing Arts Festival 10 Minute Open Plays(category of University Major), and won second place. The original play named was made through convergent creation way of stage production and filming during the first semester of 2021. After about two months of strict evaluation, the winners have been recently announced. An additional prize is one million won.

- Sungkyunkwan University Trans Media Institute, <70mK: 365, The Smile of Sungkyun> Film Interview Exhibition> Transmedia institute in Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) announced that ‘70mK’ project, directed by professor Hyuk Byeon (Department of Film, TV & Multimedia and Head of Trans Media Institute), had been exhibited in Book Café on the 1st floor of Samsung Library and Sungkyun Gallery on the 1st floor of the Business Building, Humanities and Social Sciences Campus, from June 1st, 2021. The exhibition started from the permanent exhibition in Samsung Library on June 1st and had been displayed in Sungkyun Gallery from June 9th to June 13th. 70mK is an abbreviation of ’70 million Koreans’, and a large-scale film interview project drawing awareness map of 70 million Koreans in North and South who are preparing for unified Korea. Under the theme, <365, The Smile of Sungkyun>, this exhibition is the project containing smiles and interviews of 365 people of Sungkyun. The interviews related to the prolonged Covid 19 situation were conducted with members of SKKU. Also, the purposes of exhibition were to deliver hopeful message through people of Sungkyun in interview and to provide psychological quarantine. The production of works in exhibition had been led by Trans Media institute and had been produced through [Multidisciplinary Capstone Design] sponsored by LINC project, and overall, 24 students had participated in production. President of SKKU, Dong-Ryeol Shin, Deans of each department, Dean of School of Art, and the faculty of the department of Film, Television and Multimedia, and Manager of Woori Bank Sungkyunkwan University Branch, Seo-Jin Lee, participated in the opening ceremony of <70mK: 365, The Smile of Sungkyun> on 2 pm, June 10th, and the ceremony ended in great success. The exhibition had been displayed until June 13th, and the interviews were composed of five parts (what you like, who you like, what you want to do, the moment you were happy, what you want to achieve). http://70mk.com

- 2021 Fashion Design Graduation Project Fashion Film
- The Department of Fashion Design in Sungkyunkwan University presented 2021 Graduation Project collection Fashion Film “Ladies & Gentlemen and Other”(academic advisor Eun-hyuk Lim). Following the flow of post pandemic fashion converting into digital communication, the graduation project collection of Fashion Design in this year showed the form of fashion film. This collection has been developed by dividing ultimate theme, ‘Fashion and Gender’, into eight sub themes and teams. If improvisation meets technology, literature, -Designating particular place /Audience participation /Digital performance 2021. 5. 23(Sun) 12:00/13:00 Marronnier Square This performance plans an impromptu performance based on the combination of technology (smartphone) and dance. Furthermore, it aims the seeking of individual, society and technology through the form of audience participation and designation of specific place. The work is inspired by the short novel of Shirley Jackson, . The work is about the story of family and rules that blindly follow the tradition. Through the work of seeking the essence of human (individual and society), it is possible to think back on the human who is isolated due to technology. By setting the square that appears in the novel as Marronnier Square, the show is performed in specific place. In addition, audience participation performance is involved through storytelling using the application specially produced for the performance. How to participate in performance - Anyone without an advance reservation can participate in the performance. - Personal earphones are needed. - Download the application(app) developed for the performance. It explores human and the place where human exists through the collaboration of dance with music, film and other genres. Also, it conveys new and creative performance through combining and juxtaposing many elements, such as visual, auditory, movement and narrative etc. by visiting the space of audience. Concept/Direct Na-ye Kim After graduating New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, she actively performed overseas such as Europe, America etc. as contemporary dancer, and became the first Korean to enter the dance company known worldwide, Baryshnikov Dance Foundation. She served as professor of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts from 2016 to 2019, and now, is professor of dance department, Sungkyunkwan University. - The Department of Dance, Conducting Global Connexion Workshop
- on March 28th, the students in the master’s course of dance(Heung-yeol Ko, Myeong-sun Kim, Sang-jun Park) had been invited as teaching artists in America Global Connexion (Virtual Exchange) 2021 workshop, and held a class for the students in the department of dance all over the world. 15 teaching artists and 80 students all around the world participated in this Global Connexion Workshop. Because of an ongoing situation of COVID-19, this kind of untact international exchange programs have been being made a lot and Global Connexion was also held in Zoom platform with the same intent. The students in the department of dance at Sungkyunkwan University instructed the repertory class placing emphasis on the choreography work of Chang-jun Park. This was a good chance to introduce both Korean contemporary dance and our school.
